Substation Design Suite: Protection & Control Fundamentals

The Substation Design Suite Protection and Control (P&C) 9.0: Fundamentals course is for designer-level users of Substation Design Suite™ Protection and Control (SDS P&C) Toolkit. The Toolkit is built on AutoCAD® Electrical.

Note that this content is designed for SDS P&C Toolkit on AutoCAD® Electrical with a Windows operating system and not with a Mac OS.

The content introduces you to the SDS P&C Toolkit software and covers topics that build on your basic understanding of AutoCAD Electrical. You will learn how to use many of the drawing creation tools for schematics, panel and wiring diagram layouts, and configuration, in protection and control design.

You will create schematic drawings (ladder logic and point to point) and panel drawings, and use automated commands for symbol insertion, component tagging, wire numbering, and drawing modification. Additionally, methods for customizing electrical symbols, circuits, and databases are also discussed. Other topics covered include title block linking, reporting tools, templates, and project files.

Prerequisites for this Substation Design Suite Training Course:
  • Basic AutoCAD or other CAD drafting experience and a thorough knowledge of working in a Microsoft Windows environment are required.
